#TakeOnTextron

This campaign was launched during the 2016 week of action when FANG co-founder Pia Ward and two FANG friends locked down at Textron’s HQ located in downtown Providence. Textron is the last U.S. manufacturer of cluster-bombs, which they sell to Saudi Arabia for their war with Yemen. A cluster bomb is an explosive that releases a number of projectiles on impact to injure or damage personnel or vehicles. Some do not detonate during combat and remain dormant until disturbed at a later time. They have been banned by most countries, because they indiscriminately kill and maim civilians, as has been the case in Yemen. In conjunction with other local groups including AFSC-SENE, (American Friends Service Committee-South East New England,) weekly protests continued at their headquarters until they announced that their cluster munitions manufacturing would be discontinued. The FANG Collective continues to monitor this situation to make sure they stay true to their word.
