AMOR Mental Health Provider Training Pt. 2

  • The FANG Collective 545 Pawtucket Ave Pawtucket, RI (map)

Are you a mental health provider or healer? Interested in assisting AMOR and learning more about structural competency in mental health provision? Come out to our mental health provider training!

THIS IS PART 2 OF A 2 PART SERIES. Mental Health Providers interested in supporting AMOR must attend both trainings.

This training's aim is to bring people together to talk about both the ways in which communities take care of themselves and each other's mental health, as well as how mental health providers are addressing issues of oppression, culture, and structural racism within their work. By the end of the training, participants will have a baseline level of competency to provide care for people using AMOR's services in a way that is safe and empowering.

This is part of an effort to bring together a group of people interested in supporting AMOR's mental health work and learning from each other to grow our own mental health practice. You do NOT have to be a licensed mental health provider to join in!

Topics will include:
the language of oppression
cultural and structural competency
trauma-informed care
alternative treatment models
safety and mandatory reporting
community mapping

Please reach out if you have any questions, and share widely in your networks! All are welcome at this event, regardless of level of formal training.
